TED（指technology, entertainment, design在英語中的縮寫，即技術、娛樂、設計）是美國的一家私有非營利機構，該機構以它組織的TED大會著稱。TED誕生於1984年，其發(fā)起人是里查德?沃曼。 2002年起，克里斯?安德森接管TED，創(chuàng)立了種子基金會（The Sapling Foundation），并營運TED大會。每年3月，TED大會在美國召集眾多科學、設計、文學、音樂等領域的杰出人物，分享他們關於技術、社會、人的思考和探索。 TED環(huán)球會議是TED大會的子會議。2005年，第一屆TED環(huán)球會議在英國召開。2007年，TED非洲大會在坦尚尼亞召開。2008年9月，第二屆TED非洲大會於南非召開。 從2006年起，TED演講的視頻被上傳到網上。截至2010年4月，TED官方網站上收錄的TED演講視頻已達650個，有逾五千萬的網民觀看了TED演講的視頻。所有的TED演講的視頻都是以創(chuàng)用CC的方式予以授權的。
